Name: Kaiyah

Real Age: 17

Age Appearance: 17

Species: Human

Rank/Position: She currently wanders the wilderness, though would like to join the Musou (are humans allowed?) If she cannot, however, she would still willingly die for their cause.

Personality: Kaiyah is somewhat cautious about who she befriends, but once she thinks that you are not a threat, she becomes more open to you. She is a loyal friend and a caring soul, and is the kind of person who forgives a wrongdoing against herself far more easily than a wrongdoing against a friend. She will always try to talk things over before she fights, but once she realizes that something can’t be talked over, she’s a fierce fighter. She can sniff out the average lie pretty easily, but if it is well disguised, she might not notice it. She's pretty good at controlling her anger, and is indifferent to most insults. If someone gets her really mad, she will usually try to control her anger until she has found a way to remove the cause of that anger, then takes out all her anger doing that.
If anyone ever did something for her - or she did something unjust to someone else - she would always repay them, no matter how much they might protest. She never requires it for others to repay her, though she knows that some people will never leave a good deed unrewarded, in which case she won't protest.

Physical Description: Kaiyah is a tall, thin girl, though not so much that she looks out of balance. She stands at 5'9". She has an hourglass shape and a thin waist. Her legs are somewhat long, and her knees are high. Her feet are proportional. On top of semi-broad shoulders is a rather long, graceful neck. Her face is thin, though not so much as to seem unhealthy. Her lips are filled-out and a lovely shade of red, and her eyes are somewhat big and angled up. Her brows are narrow and medium-thick, and arch elegantly.
Kaiyah's skin is tanned from being outside so much, though the shade of tan varies from the color of dry dirt to that of beach sand. Her thick hair is dark red with strands of lighter and darker variants. It goes down to the middle of her back while braided, and it's usually in a braid or twin braids. Her eyes are reddish-brown to match her hair, and have flecks of copper.
Clothing: Kaiyah usually wears a simple long-sleeved dress and pettiskirt, usually brown or green. The pettiskirt is off-white. It is medium-cut at the top, and is made out of a tough, durable material. It is tied in the back, and has some simple designs embroidered on the edges. With that she wears brown leather lace-up boots with fluffy inner lining so that she doesn't have to wear socks with them. In the winter or when she is using the blaeff, she usually wears similar leather gloves that go up to her elbows. Both are hardy and have lasted the years with her. She is also usually seen with a patched-looking dark green-gray cloak that breaks up her outline quite well.
Around her waist is a brown leather belt that was made for function, not beauty. On the left of the belt is a city-made six-inch hunting knife, and to the right is a 4' long blaeff with foot-long metal blades at either end. It has a hinge in the middle, though when straightened it is very secure. The wood is very hard and durable, as are the blades. There is a synthetic-leather grip in the middle of it. She also has belt-packs with many useful survival tools.

Skills/Strengths: She is an expert at wielding a blaeff - a staff with a blade at each end - and has reflexes that can deflect bullets (is this okay?). She is also pretty good at self-defense, though she's better with a blaeff. She's also an expert at wilderness survival and knows many healing herbs and edible foods. After 10 years of living out in the wilderness, she knows much about the ways of the forest, and knows it like the back of her hand. Her reflexes, speed, strength and agility are all very good, especially speed and agility. It's almost unbelievable how fast she can run when she's really trying. She is also very graceful, especially in her forest home. Her senses have been honed for over ten years, and as a result are very acute. She walks silently and gracefully through the forest, quite unusual for a human. Her voice is a low soprano, and her singing is quite beautiful, enough to move even some angels to tears.
Weaknesses: Her most major, crippling weakness is her incredible fear of angels. If she even sees one at a distance, her first instinct is to run as fast as possible in the opposite direction her fear is so great. At the same time, she admires them for their grace and strength. Though she is stronger than an average woman, she would still probably lose in a battle of strengths between her and a man.

Quote: No mortal has ever outwitted an angel... but there's a first for everything, right?

History:
Kaiyah was born to human parents in Kiijutsu City. Her parents homeschooled her, being afraid to send her to any local schools. They didn't want to see their daughter dead. They were loving parents, and were Kaiyah's rocks in a world where murder happened daily. They taught her right from wrong, and taught her of the angels. However, they seemed sad all the time. When Kaiyah asked them why, they answered that they remembered better days, days where people didn't have to worry about muder daily.

One day, however, they seemed much happier. When Kaiyah asked them why, they told her that there was a rumor of a rebel group called the Musou, though they couldn't confirm anything yet. These rumors seemed to spark something within them, and they seemed energized and hopeful all the time. They did small things that showed their support of the rebel group, though they would never let Kaiyah come. She began to complain about this, arguing that if they could do it, so could she. However, her parents said it was too dangerous for her.

One day, however, they got caught. Kaiyah was seven years old and watching them through the window when suddenly Empire angels flew in on all sides. They handcuffed them and pushed them into a police car, then drove off somewhere. Suspcious and afraid, Kaiyah snuck into the street, sticking to the shadows made by the evening sun, following the trail of oil left by the broken-down car. Eventually, she came to the Kiijutsu temple. She knew by then that if she entered without permission, she would be killed if she was seen. However, she had to know what happened to her parents.

Several times she was almost seen, and she was lost for most of the way. Eventually, she heard the voice of an angel, and followed that. She was standing at the door of the room when she heard footsteps from somewhere off behind her. An angel was coming. Afraid, she dove off to one side - and fell through the decaying wall. Looking around wildly, she found she was in some long-lost secret passage. Cobwebs were everywhere, and the floor was covered in a layer of dust several inches thick. To avoid being caught, Kaiyah quickly replaced the stone she had misplaced. With that, she headed up the passage.

At the other end was a tiny hole in the wall that peeked through to the room her parents were in. Kaiyah watched intently, not daring to breathe. Someone - an angel - was saying what they had been convicted of. Her parents were sitting in strange chairs with all sorts of wires connected to them. When the angel was done reading, two others seemed to do something with the chairs. Kaiyah's parents writhed in pain for a few seconds before going limp. Dead.

Kaiyah stared in shock, unable to feel. When it was over, an angel somehow spotted her, and pointed, shouting something. Someone else shot a bullet at her. Their aim was true, but so were her reflexes. She ducked down, bullet going over her head. Knowing she had to leave, she turned to go back. On her way, she noticed many other passages sprouting off the main one. Desperate, she turned down one of those. For a while there was a goose chase between her and the angels. Eventually Kaiyah came to what seemed like a dead end. Terrified, she frantically pushed at the end of it. The brick pushed away to reveal the passage led to the outer wall of the temple - several stories up.

Hearing footsteps behind her, she knew she had to do something. She carefully climbed out, going down the outer wall. It was slow and tedious work with few handholds, and halfway down the angels came out at the passage. The one with the gun came through and aimed it at her head. Desperate, Kaiyah fell the rest of the way. As she landed, she felt an arm crinkle beneath her, broken. However, she couldn't dwell on that. She had to run. Turning, she bolted for the city's exit. It was a long night in the city, a game of hide-and-seek between Kaiyah and the angels. Just as the sun was coming up, Kaiyah reached the city gates. Relieved, she ran for her life, aiming for the wild section of Kiijutsu.

She reached her destination. She spent the next 10 years healing her arm and teaching herself the ways of the wild. She only ever visited the city to get supplies or for blaeff training, and she always went with a disguise. She also spent that time thinking about the Musou. She was convinced it was real, and wanted to help it overthrow her parent's killers - even if it did take meeting with angels. She had a terrible fear of angels, but was willing to face it if it meant helping the Musou. It eventually became her reason for living, her rock in a world where murder happened daily. Her cause worth dying for.

And if that's what it takes, she's willing to do it.
